Dr Peter J Papantoniou is an Australian trained Consultant Orthopaedic & Spine Surgeon practicing from rooms at Kogarah, Leichhardt, Toukley and Gosford and operating at St George Private Hospital, St Lukes Private Hospital and Berkeley Vale Private Hospital.
He is a subspecialist with expertise in Hip , Knee and Lumbar Spine Surgery. Having finished his medical degree at the University of New South Wales in 1988 he continued with extensive basic and subspecialist training in Hip , Knee , Sports Knee and Lumbar Spine Orthopaedic Surgery. His Orthopaedic Surgery training was with the Australian Orthopaedic Association and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and he continues to use his extensive subspecialty experience in his private practice.

Dr Peter J Papantoniou is an Australian trained Consultant Orthopaedic & Spine Surgeon. He has been involved in extensive research for more than 20 years presenting and publishing research at National and International meetings and Journals. Currently he is involved with the ongoing research into minimising pain related to surgery of the hip, knee and lumbar spine. He practices Local Infiltration Analgesia (LIA) with his Hip and Knee surgery. The technique has been extended to lumbar spine surgery with the Minimal Pain Surgery (MPS) techniques used to allow the Very Early Rehabilitation program (VERS). Patients routinely walk at 4 hours and eat and drink immediately on return to the ward. Most patients discharge home the following morning.
