Local infiltration analgesia allows walking 4 hours after the operation and eating and drinking on return to the ward.

Dr Peter J Papantoniou is an Australian trained Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon practicing from rooms and operating at St George Private Hospital Kogarah Sydney Australia.

He is a subspecialist with expertise in Hip , Knee and Lumbar Spine Surgery. Having finished his medical degree at the University of New South Wales in 1988 he has extensive basic and subspecialist training in Hip , Knee , Sports Knee and Lumbar Spine Orthopaedic Surgery. Having completed his Orthopaedic Surgery training with the Australian Orthopaedic Association and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons continued to use his extensive subspecialty experience in his private practice at St George Private Hospital.

With practice locations at Kogarah, Bankstown, Leichhardt and Toukley he is able to offer all Hip Knee and Lumbar Spine treatments at all locations.
